ITEC News & Notes

When the International Tire Exhibition & Conference (ITEC) was first offered in 1994, the objective was to provide to the tire manufacturing industry application-ready information in the form of carefully selected technical, manufacturing and business presentations, world-class exhibitors, and delegate networking opportunities.

As part of our strategic plan to be the one event for everyone in the tire industry, ITEC added retailing and distribution to the show and conference mix in 2010 and 2012 and held the combined events in Cleveland, Ohio at the I-X Center.

Today, ITEC continues to evolve -- by going back to our roots. We are re-focusing the in-depth conference and exhibition on just the tire manufacturing industry and the business of producing tires. We chose to come back to the John S. Knight Center in Akron, Ohio, the industry’s historic center.

A separate ITEC focused on retail and commercial tire dealers, tire sellers and distributors, retreaders and automotive service providers is being held in Orlando on August 20-22, 2014. For more information on that event, click here.

ITEC 2014 Tire Manufacturing is ideal for tire manufacturers and suppliers to manufacturing operations who are seeking to expand their national and international customer base. In 2012, exhibitors included suppliers of automation controls; bead and bead apexing machinery; bladders; brakes; calenders, chemicals, control systems; conveyors; supplies for curing systems; cutters; data collection, engineering services; extruders and related products; measurement systems; inspection systems; lubricants, marking equipment, materials handling systems; mills; mixers; mold products and cleaning; motion control; nondestructive testing systems; processing equipment; tire assembly products and equipment; sensors; testing equipment and services; presses and so much more. If you’d like more information on whether this is the right show for you, please contact Brent Weaver, sales manager, bweaver@crain.com or Pete McNeil, sales representative, pmcneil@crain.com.

ITEC combines world class (and world-wide) exhibitors with an exceptional technical program. As much attention is paid to building an outstanding conference program as is spent on making sure the exhibitors can provide real-world experience and solutions. Attendees, who come from throughout the world, can learn as much on the exhibit floor as in the conference rooms

ITEC is known for having a high percentage of attendees who make purchasing decisions. The show also attracts the technical people who influence buying decisions. ITEC attendees include company Presidents and CEOs; VP’s of Applications, Engineering, Manufacturing, Marketing, and Technology; Managing Directors, Managers of Engineering; Materials, Mechanical, Electrical, Design, Environmental, Applications, OTR, and Tire and Mold Engineers; Senior Chemists; Compounders; Tire Curing Managers; Applications and Research Scientists; Plant Engineers and Managers; Supply Chain Managers; Compounders; Tire Builders; and Buyers.

Conference delegates will have many opportunities to interact with professional colleagues on and off the show floor. Networking will occur during the refreshment breaks, complimentary lunches, the ever-popular cocktail receptions and unique hospitality options that are available to exhibitors.

Akron has historically been the center of the American tire industry, and is still the home of Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. In addition, technical centers for Firestone, Hankook, Kumho and Nexen are nearby. Cooper Tire is just 90 minutes away. Plus, many suppliers to the tire manufacturing industry are located in northeast Ohio.
